Species at Risk Policies – Policy on Recovery and Survival
This document is one of a suite of Species at Risk Act (SARA) policies developed to support predictable, clear, and consistent implementation of the Act. These policies address key areas of the SARA cycle. They are designed to provide clarity for jurisdictions, Indigenous organizations and communities, and stakeholders on the requirements of the Act and to clarify how the Government of Canada or Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) meets its obligations under SARA.
Following the policy comment period for the Policy on Recovery and Survival, ECCC finalized the policy after taking into consideration the input received. The final Policy on Recovery and Survival replaces the proposed policy that received comments.
Should you have any questions, please contact Paula Brand (Director, SARA Policy, Canadian Wildlife Service).
